1. Post Name: Subordinate Engineer, Grade I (Civil)

Essential Qualification: Certificate of Draughtsmanship in Civil or passed the two years course of 3 years Diploma Course in Civil from a recognized Polytechnic/Engineering institution.

Essential Qualification: Certificate of Draughtsmanship in Civil or passed the two years course of 3 years Diploma Course in Mechanical from a recognized Polytechnic/Engineering institute.

Corrigendum in respect of Essential Qualification of Junior Assistant

In continuation to Employment Notice published in News Papers on 18/12/2019 vide Janasanyog/D/7890/19 for filling up of vacant Grade-III posts under the establishment of Chief Engineer and various District level offices of Irrigation Department, the following correction is hereby made regarding essential Qualification for the post as shown below:-

Scale of Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, Grade Pay Rs.6,200/-

[Updated] Essential Qualification:-

A candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University or any examination declared equivalent by the Govt. Moreover, the candidate must possess knowledge of computer as specified below:-

(A) Candidate must have a good working knowledge of office productivity software tools (independent) of any operating system i.e. MS Windows Linux Mac etc. such as,

(a) Word processor,

(b) Spreadsheet,

(c) Presentation graphics,

(d) Concept of Database,

(e) Internet,

(f) E-mail

(B) Candidate must possess a minimum 6 (Six) months Diploma in Computer application/Knowledge from an Institute recognized by the Govt.

4. Post Name: Junior Assistant (District level)

No. of Posts: 159 Nos.

Scale of Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, Grade Pay Rs.6,200/-

[Updated] Essential Qualification:-

A candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University or any examination declared equivalent by the Govt. Moreover, the candidate must possess knowledge of computer as specified below:-

(A) Candidate must have a good working knowledge of office productivity software tools (independent) of any operating system i.e. MS Windows Linux Mac etc. such as,

(a) Word processor,

(b) Spreadsheet,

(c) Presentation graphics,

(d) Concept of Database,

This is as per Gazette Notification No. GAG(B)469/2016/36 Dated March 15, 2017, by the General Administration(B) Department, Assam and published in the Assam Gazette N0.132 published on 7th April 2017.

Further, the reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will be provided in all cadre of posts as published in the News Papers on 18/12/2019 vide Janasanyog/D/7890/19 as per Govt. Notification No.ABP.07/2019/4, Dtd. 10th April 2019 by the Department of Personnel, Govt. of Assam.

Further, the upper age limit is relaxable by 2(two) years in case of Ex-serviceman as per Govt Rules.

5. Post Name: Section Assistant

No. of Posts: 397 Nos.

Scale of Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, Grade Pay Rs.5,600/-

Essential Qualification: H.S.S.L.C or equivalent (10+2 Examination) passed from any recognized Board/Council.

6. Post Name: Power Pump Operator

No. of Posts: 41 Nos.

Scale of Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, Grade Pay Rs.5,000/-

Essential Qualification: H.S.L.C or equivalent Examination from any recognized Board/Council with ITI Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical or passed H.S.L.C or equivalent examination with minimum of 8 years experience as Helper.

7. Post Name: Primary Investigator

No. of Post: 01 No.

Scale of Pay: Rs.14,000-60,500, Grade Pay Rs.6,200/-

Essential Qualification: H.S.S.L.C or equivalent (10+2 Examination) passed from any recognized Board/Council in any stream with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

Reservations: The Reservation Rules of Govt of Assam will apply against all the posts. There will be no Reservation against PwD (Persons with Disability) in the concerned vacancies as the same were already recruited recently in a central recruitment drive.

Age Limit: Not below 18 (Eighteen) years and above 38 (Thirty-Eight) years of age as on 01-01-2020. The upper age limit is, however, relaxable by 5 (five) Years in case of SC/ST and by 3 (Three) years in case of OBC as per Govt Rules.

Essential Criteria: A candidate must be Permanent resident of Assam. For proof of Permanent Residence, the voter ID card of the candidate or either of his/her parents must be submitted. The candidate must have command over the local language.

How to Apply Irrigation Department, Assam Recruitment 2020

The candidates are to apply online in the link which would be available in the departmental web site https://irrigation.assam.gov.in from 10:00 hours of 20th December 2019.

Documents to be Uploaded

A. For age proof, HSLC Certificate/Admit Card issued by recognized Board/Council.

B. The Voter ID Card of the Candidate or either of his/her Parents as proof of Permanent residence.

C. Certificate of qualifying examination as per the applicable case.

D. Recent Passport Size Photograph.

E. Scanned Copy of Signature of the Candidate.

F. Caste Certificate from competent authority if applying for such a category.

Admit Card for OMR Based Examination

After Scrutiny of applications, the Admit cards will be generated online for the candidates found eligible and they will be intimated through SMS/Mail to download their Admit cards. The candidates whose applications are rejected for any reason may see the reasons for rejection in the same link.

Selection Procedure

OMR based written examination will be held for all categories of posts at specified locations to be decided in due course of time. Wherever applicable, the shortlisted candidates will be called for a Computer Proficiency Test/Skill test the date and venue of which will be notified later on. The selection of candidates shall be on the basis of OMR based written test and Computer proficiency test (as applicable). There will not be any Viva-Voce in the selection process against any of the posts.

Other Conditions

A. The candidate must be an Indian citizen as defined in Article 5-8 of the constitution of India.

B. Those candidates who are already in service should apply through proper channel.

C. The selected candidate will have to submit an undertaking to the appointing authority that they will abide by the new Pension Rules of the Government issued Vide Finance Department’s letter No.BW-3/03/pt-II/1 Dated 25.01.2005

D. Canvassing directly or indirectly shall disqualify a candidate.

E. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending the OMR based written test/Skill test.

Selection criteria for Junior Assistant (HoD Level and District Level)

The Candidates will be selected on the basis of combined tests i.e. written examination and Computer Test with details the breakup of marks as follows.

Written Examination (Objective type multiple choice)         

Duration: 2 hours

General English: 40 Questions

General Knowledge and Intelligence with Special emphasis on Assam: 20 Questions

Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude: 40 Questions

Total Marks for Written Test: 100

Computer Test: 25

Grand Total Marks: 125

The candidates will have to attend 100 objective type questions in the written test. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1 (one) mark. The question(s) not attempted will receive no credit or discredit.

The candidates equal to 4 times the number of vacancies (1:4), in order of merit in written examination, will be called for Computer Proficiency Test and checking of original testimonials.

On the basis of marks obtained in Written Test and Computer Test (MS office or equivalent), the final panel will be prepared for appointments in order of merit.

Selection criteria for Section Assistant

The Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination with details breakup of marks as follows.

Written Examination (Objective type multiple choice) 

Duration: 2 hours

General English: 30 Questions

General Knowledge and Intelligence with Special emphasis on Assam: 20 Questions

Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Questions

Total Marks for Written Test: 100

The candidates will have to attend 100 objective type questions in the written test. For every correct answer, the candidate will be awarded 1(one) mark. The question(s) not attempted will receive no credit or discredit.

The candidates equal the number of vacancies in order of merit in written examination, will be called for verification of original testimonials.
