Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat (ALAS), Dispur has issued an official advertisement notification announcement for the recruitment of 09 posts of Reporter Grade-II, Stenographer, Lower Division Assistant (LDA), Translator and Typist vacancy. Assembly Assam Recruitment Details
1. English Reporter (Grade-II)
- No of post: 01 [UR]
- Eligibility: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% marks for SC/STP and 40% marks for STH from any recognized University. (ii) The candidate must have Certificate in Stenography. (iii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Proficiency.
- Scale of pay: Rs.22000-97000/- GP Rs.9400/- plus other allowances.
2. Stenographer (Grade-II) E
- No of post: 01 [UR]
- Eligibility: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% marks for SC/STP and 40% marks for STH from any recognized University. (ii) The candidate must have Certificate in Stenography. (iii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Proficiency.

3. Language Reporter Grade-II
- No of post: 01 [UR]
- Eligibility: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% marks for SC/STP and 40% marks for STH from any recognized University. (ii) The candidate must have Certificate in Stenography. (iii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Proficiency. (iv) DTP in Assamese Language Certificate should be enclosed.

4. Lower Division Assistant (LDA)
- No of post: 01 [UR]
- Eligibility: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% marks for SC/STP and 40% marks for STH from any recognized University. (ii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Proficiency.
- Scale of pay: Rs.14000-70000/- GP Rs.8700/- plus other allowances.
5. Translator
- No of post: 01 [UR]
- Eligibility: (i) Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 50% marks for General/OBC/MOBC, 45% marks for SC/STP and 40% marks for STH from any recognized University. (ii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Proficiency.
- Scale of pay: Rs.14000-70000/- GP Rs.8700/- plus other allowances.
6. Typist
- No of posts: 03 [UR: 02 & STH: 01]
- Eligibility: (i) HS or equivalent passed in Arts/Science/Commerce with at least 45% marks for General, 40% marks for STH from any recognized Council/Board. (ii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/Certificate in Computer Proficiency.
- Scale of pay: Rs.14000-70000/- GP Rs.6200/- plus other allowances.
7. Typist (Bodo Language Cell)
- No of post: 01 [UR]
- Eligibility: (i) HS or equivalent passed in Bodo Language with at least 40% marks from any recognized Council/Board. (ii) The candidate must possess a minimum 6 (six) months Diploma/ Certificate in Computer Proficiency. (iii) DTP in Bodo Language Certificate should be enclosed.
- Scale of pay: Rs.14000-70000/- GP Rs.6200/- plus other allowances.
Age Limit for Assembly Assam
(i) The minimum age limit for each post mentioned above shall be 21 years and maximum age limit for the post mentioned from Sl. (1) to (7) is 40 (Forty) years at the time of application irrespective of fresh or candidates applying through proper channel. The upper age relaxation as per norms.
(ii) The age limit of the candidate will be calculated on the basis of the Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card or Pass Certificate issued by a recognized Central/State Board/Council.
Selection Process for Assembly Assam
The selection of candidates for recruitment will be in the following manner: The Selection Committee of ALA Secretariat will shortlist the candidates whose applications are found to be eligible on the basis of Academic qualification as quoted in the application. The shortlisted candidates will be called for Speed Test in case of English Reporter Gr.-ll/Stenographer Gr.-ll(E)/Language Reporter Gr.-ll posts, Written Examination and Computer Practical Test for the post of L.D. Asstt. and Translator and Computer practical Test for the post of Typist and Typist (Bodo Language Cell) shall be conducted by the Selection Committee of Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat.
