Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality & Domicile
- The applicant must be a citizen of India.
- Must be a permanent local resident of West Karbi Anglong district.
2. Educational Qualification
- Minimum qualification: Matriculation (10th Pass).
- Candidates must have overall comprehension and an inclination to assist weaker and marginalized sections of society with compassion and empathy.
3. Age Limit
- Minimum age: 18 years as on the date of the advertisement (12.10.2026).
4. Eligible Target Groups
Candidates belonging to any of the following categories can apply:
- Teachers (including retired teachers)
- Retired Government servants and senior citizens
- M.S.W. students and teachers
- Anganwadi Workers
- Doctors / Physicians
- Students and Law Students (till they enroll as advocates)

- Members of Women Neighbourhood Groups, Maithri Sanghams, and Self-Help Groups (SHGs)
- Educated Prisoners with good behavior serving long-term sentences
- Any other person deemed fit by DLSA
Remuneration
The work of a Para Legal Volunteer (PLV) does not carry any fixed monthly salary, regular remuneration, or wages. Selected PLVs are entitled only to an honorarium fixed by the DLSA from time to time based on assigned work days.
Selection Procedure
- Application Screening: Applications will be scrutinized based on eligibility and attached credentials.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a personal interview.
- Result & Notification: The list of shortlisted candidates, interview dates, and other updates will be published exclusively on the official district court portal.
- No individual call letters or TA/DA will be provided.
