✅Vocational Education, Assam
✔️The aim of
introducing vocational education in schools aligned with NSQF (National Skill Qualification
Framework) is to prepare the student as productive and improve their vocational
efficiency maintaining the global competitiveness under diversified courses.
The main objectives are to cater the gap between demand and supply of skilled
manpower aligned with academic institution and industry and reduce the dropout
rate in schools in Assam.
✅In Assam, the Vocational Education under NSQF scheme is being
implemented in 340 Higher Secondary Schools (Secondary & Higher Secondary
levels) since 2015-16.
✔️The Scheme is being financed by Central and State
Governments (90:10 sharing pattern).
✔️The courses taught in the schools are aligned
with NSQF framework.
✔️The entry point is Class IX and Class XI.
✔️In one school, two trades are introduced; each
trade is of two years duration with a particular job role.
✔️The idea is to equip a student with two job roles, once he/she
pass out 12th standard.
✔️In each trade, the student strength is 25 per
trade.
✔️This subject is taken up as Elective Subject.
✔️Third Party (10 Training Management Partners) are
being implemented Vocational Education in 340 schools on behalf of Samagra Shiksha, Assam.

✔️Academic Training for students (Theory &
Practical Classes).
✔️Hand on Skill Training for students
(Industry/Organization/Institution visit).
✔️Project Preparation.
✔️Grooming session/ Communication Skill
Development/Skill Competition among schools.
✔️Student certification; Joint certification: State
Board and National Skill Development Council (NSDC).
