1. Project Associate
- No. of vacancy: 01 (One)
- Qualification: Candidates with an M.Sc./M.Phil. in Zoology with a specialized knowledge in sericulture, with or without a NET qualification, will be considered/preferred and designated as Project Associate, with monthly emoluments in accordance with DST rules.
- Desirable: Candidates with strong skills and experience in seri-biotechnology and probiotic research and design are preferred.
- Emoluments: Rs.31,000/- + 8% HRA per month
- Age limit: Upper age limit is 28 years (for General category). Upper age limit may be relaxed by up to 5 years for SC/ST/Women and physically disabled candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates.
2. Field Assistant
- No. of vacancy: 01 (One)
- Qualification: B.Sc./M.Sc. in Zoology with a minimum of 55% or equivalent CGPA, knowledge of sericulture projects, and basic computer knowledge is preferred.
- Desirable: Candidates, who are well trained/experienced in laboratory instrument repair and maintenance, as well as documents preparation, will be given preference.
- Emoluments: Rs. 18,000/- + 8% HRA per month
- Age limit: Upper age limit is 28 years (for General category). Upper age limit may be relaxed by up to 5 years for SC/ST/Women and physically disabled candidates, and 3 years for OBC candidates.
St. Joseph University Job Description
(i) Project Associate: The Project Associate will assist the Principal Investigator and Co-investigators with experiment planning, execution, report preparation, and research article publication.
Nature of work:-
#Mass production of Probiotics.
#Testing and maintaining of data bases.
#Maintaining the pure cultures of probiotics for continuous use in lab and field
#Rearing of eri silk larva till cocoon stage in the lab.
#Harvesting of the cocoons
(ii) Field Assistant: The Field Assistant will assist in the maintenance of records and instruments in the laboratory, as well as the maintenance of field equipment, and will assist the Project Associate, Co-investigators, and Principal Investigator in all aspects of project planning, execu- tion, and data management.
Nature of work:-
#Plantation and maintenance of the primary and secondary host plants
#Primary: castor plant
#Secondary plants: cassava plant.
#Collection of the leaves of the host plants for feeding the Eri worms.
#Construction and maintenance of feed storage room.
#Maintenance and management of the Eri culture rooms and labs.
